Civil Engineering

REDS have carried out a wide range of Civil Engineering projects throughout the UK and around the world where access restrictions have meant a potentially difficult or hazardous working environment.

Works as diverse as the removal and re-instatement of the 200ton Barrow-in-Furness Lock gates to simple civil engineering and Bridge Inspections can all be co-ordinated from our base in the Midlands.

Examples of completed projects include:

The No.2 gates at Barrow are of solid (non-buoyant) contruction and weigh approximatly 190 tonne per leaf. Being approximately 130 years old the required the design and installation of a significant bracing lift arrangement.

REDS
carried out emergency bridge stabilisation works to Duddon Bridge in Cumbria, when it was found scour had undermined the structure during period and flooding.
