Reds

Early 90’s

Set up of REDS (Rovtech Engineering & Diving Services) as part of the ROVTECH group.

Reds

1999

Management buyout of REDS from ROVTECH.

Early 2000

Incorporation of REDS (Reach Engineering & Diving Services Ltd) by the current management team.

Late 2000

Relocation to Rugby – start of “hub” strategy to service nuclear power station fleet throughout the UK.

Early 2001

Commencement of works in Nuclear Power Station.

Summer 2001

Award of major contract by Bilfinger & Berger GMBH in Panama, South America, 1st major overseas civil engineering project for REDS – approx. 18months on-site and value in excess of £1.5m.

2002

Established as a preferred contractor and commencement of Framework Agreement for British Energy across the majority of their UK based facilities.

2003

Award of major contract for the M.O.D. through Thales Systems for carrying out classified repair works to UK Nuclear Submarine Fleet.

Early 2004

Award of contract from BEsix for dive support for SPM / pipeline and riser installation in Libya.

Late 2004

Signing of diving framework agreement with SSE (Scottish & Southern Energy)Hydro to provide diving support

2005

REDS complete UK first diving operation in the reactor at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station.

2005

REDS move into West Africa with projects in Nigeria, Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.

2006

Award of framework by the Environment Agency for diving services on water control structures. Subsequent extensions and awards to present day.

REDS are the first diving contractors to become full members of the BWEA (British Wind Energy Association) now Renewable UK.

2007

Award of REDS first offshore wind diving project by VKBR at Barrow OWF to provide cable remediation and support services.

REDS become the first UK Diving Contractor to gain full accreditation to IRATA (Industrial Roped Access Trade Association), to formalise roped access department.

2008

Award of Rope Access framework agreement by SSE Hydro to compliment the diving framework already in place between REDS and SSE.

Award of first major offshore wind construction support dive support project by PMR / Mt Hojaard at Rhyl Flats OWF.

Award of large scale diving and roped access project in Equatorial Guinea to further enhance REDS offering in West Africa.

2009 - 2012

Award of further large-scale Offshore Wind Farm projects covering foundation installation, cable support and Operation & Maintenance Works. Clients include Centrica, DONG, Vestas, MTH, Noble Denton, Vattenfal, Subocean and others).

2010

Acquisition of 55% of REDS by the Sturrock & Robson Group.

2010 – 11

Award of various O&M contracts to carryout diving and access engineering within the monopiles on a number of UK offshore wind farms, in order to facilitate investigations, inspections and repairs of J-Tube and seal arrangements.

2011

Award of accreditations including ISO 14001 and 18001 to compliment previous ISO9001 accreditation.

2012

Award of REDS first shore end, OSP, and beach pull cable installation project for RWE at Gwynt Y Mor offshore wind farm.

Award of major offshore diving operations contract in the Falklands to service and maintain the islands strategic facilities.

Opening of new Scottish Regional Office in Fife to expand operations in Scotland and strengthen client base.
